Other projects

These are some creative experiments that I enjoyed producing but don't really consider as part of my main body of work.

Photographs of TOYS

I found a box of old toys right around the same time I bought my first good quality digital camera and a lens capable of extreme closeups. These were a lot of fun to set up. I just used sheets of colored paper to create the backgrounds and a very short depth of field to isolate the figures.

Digital Montage

I bought a pile of old etchings at a garage sale. They were generally in poor condition but I liked the quality of the etched lines. I made high resolution scans of sections of the prints and used Adobe software to select and change the color of those lines. I experimented making prints both on plain paper and also on top of USGS topographic maps.

Mosaics

I have always been fascinated with the process of mosaics. These are pieces that I created for personal enjoyment and to beautify my own environment. There is something very satisfying in creating things for your home.
